This page says what we collect, why, where it goes and how to get it removed. It is written to be read, not to cover us.
Who we are
JJS Media Ltd is the data controller for this website. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 16573702, registered office 23 Garswood Road, Manchester, M14 7LJ. You can reach us on WhatsApp or by email; both are on the contact page.
The free check-up form
When you send the free check-up form we collect your name, your business name, your mobile number and, if you give it, a link to your Facebook page or website. We use it to do the check-up you asked for, to send you the video on WhatsApp, and, if you ask, to talk about what is in it. Nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not pass your details to anyone to sell to you.
The form is delivered by Web3Forms, a form service that relays what you typed to our email inboxes. Web3Forms processes the submission on our behalf and does not use it for anything of its own. The email then sits in our mailboxes, which are ordinary business email accounts. If you would rather not use the form, WhatsApp us instead and the same applies to what you send there.
Our lawful basis for this is that you asked us to (a step before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering an enquiry). We keep check-up enquiries for up to twelve months so we can pick the conversation back up if you come back, then delete them. If you become a client, what you send us becomes part of the work and is kept for as long as we work together plus the six years our accountant needs for the records.
Hosting and analytics
This site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel keeps short-lived server logs that include the IP address a page was requested from. We use Vercel Analytics to count visits. It is cookieless: it does not identify you, does not follow you to other sites, and does not store anything on your device, which is why this site has no cookie banner. See the cookies page.
Links to other sites
The site links to Companies House, to WhatsApp and to the sources our journal articles cite. Those sites have their own privacy notices and we do not control them.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to stop using it, or ask for a copy in a portable form. WhatsApp or email us and we will do it within a month, usually a lot sooner. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change what we collect or why, this page changes and the date at the top moves. We do not change it quietly.
